The Disney World Boardwalk Resort

Nov 16, 2019

The Disney World Boardwalk Resort.

We started off the night by catching the new Disney Skyliner at Hollywood Studios.  We exited at the Epcot station and made a short walk to the Boardwalk resort.  The path runs along Crescent Lake and over a bridge.  It really is a lovely walk.

Our first stop at the Boardwalk was the hotel lobby.  The lobby is decorated in an old fashioned beachy boardwalk theme.  Light and airy pastel colors.  We made a quick stop at the front desk to check out the pin trading board…a must at all resorts.

We then ventured out to the actual wooden plank boardwalk. The boardwalk is a great place to meander while sipping hot chocolate or enjoying some delicious ice cream from Ample Hill Creamery. We then stopped to watch Coney Island Chris, a very funny and entertaining, if not all that magic, magic show.  He includes some of the kids from the crowd and he had EVERYONE laughing. He does multiple shows a night so be sure to check him out on your next visit. There are other acts along the boardwalk but we were hungry!  We stepped into the Boardwalk Bakery for dinner.  We ordered a grilled cheese/tomato soup combo and the big and beefy sandwich which came with a bag of chips. For dessert we picked a giant chocolate chip Mickey cookie dipped in chocolate and it being the holidays, we had to try a gingerbread, Mickey.

We enjoyed everything…especially that giant Mickey cookie.  We perused the shops along the boardwalk and checked out all the 2019 Holiday swag.
If you’ve got the time, you can rent one or two seated surrey.  Each seat can accommodate 3 average-sized passengers.  You have half an hour to venture around Crescent Lake.  Along the way, you’ll pass both the Yacht Club and Beach Club resorts.  We will definitely make time for this next time.

We opted to take the Friendship boat back to the Epcot Skyliner station reversing our trip back to our car parked at Hollywood Studios.
This was a very fun, entertaining evening and we didn’t step foot in the parks. If you’re looking for a relaxing time outside of the parks this is a wonderful time for young and old. You will all enjoy the beautiful boardwalk sights.
